New Golf Club improvements, spa offerings and more to greet guests this summer
TELLURIDE, Colorado (May 18, 2016) – After taking over operations of The Peaks Resort & Spa in late July 2015, Telluride Ski & Golf has made significant improvements to the on-site amenities and aesthetics to elevate the overall guest experience, making it synonymous with everything Telluride has to offer.
“We continue to make positive strides and remain focused on establishing our identity in this amazing destination,” says Ricardo Ramirez, general manager of the Peaks Resort & Spa. “Our efforts over the past several months will highlight the commitment by the organization to offer a quality guest experience and garner a new era for The Peaks.”
Altezza at The Peaks
The biggest change guests will see is the rebranded on-site restaurant. Altezza, which means “height” in Italian, will offer an Italian-inspired menu, with a variety of main courses such as traditional pastas and Colorado-inspired dishes such as striped bass and elk carpaccio. Leading the restaurant’s new direction will be Executive Chef Jason Bayle, who recently relocated to Telluride from Dallas. The restaurant, which will be open daily for both lunch and dinner, provides one of the most spectacular views in the Telluride region and will use clean and healthy ingredients while producing honest and delicious food.
The Peaks also recently promoted Somer Perez to the position of Director of Food & Beverage. A certified Sommelier and recipient of the James Beard Rising Star award in 2008, Perez joined the team this past November as a manager and has worked closely with the Telluride Ski & Golf Team during the transition.
The Spa at The Peaks
The first phase of a face lift to The Spa at The Peaks has been completed, with a remodeled Salon, new shower floors, resurfaced Jacuzzi pools and refurbished walls and flooring. Guests and members taking advantage of the picturesque outdoor pool area will also be able to enjoy a new poolside menu offering a variety of libations and snacks.
The Spa will also be offering a revamped menu of luxury spa services aiming to integrate the elements of nature into every aspect of the guest experience. These new services will feature an exceptional array of innovative bodywork and decadent, results-driven skincare treatments. Those visiting the Salon will see new equipment as well as refreshed interior décor and surfaces.
Another highlight for the summer season will be an enhancement of the current fitness program to offer additional yoga and cycling classes, as well as other group fitness opportunities to compliment traditional summer outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and boating. The fitness facility also invested in new cardio equipment during the winter months and, with the help of Director of Fitness and Wellness, Julia Gullotti, PhD, e-RYT, LMT, continues to refresh and refine its programming to appeal to a variety of guests.
Telluride Golf Club
Construction began this spring on a new driving range facility adjacent to the existing Telluride Golf Club. Expected to open later this summer, the driving range will allow members and Golf Club guests the ability to practice their skills before heading out on the course. The on-site Pro Shop has undergone a total remodel with new furnishings and merchandise. In addition, the resort invested in a new fleet of GPS-enabled golf carts.
“Since the acquisition, Telluride Ski & Golf continues to invest in The Peaks Resort & Spa with a focus on our guests and their experience,” says Bill Jensen, CEO of Telluride Ski & Golf. “I’m excited about these improvements and believe our guests will be pleased with the new refurbishments we’ve completed as part of our continuous focus on improving the infrastructure and overall guest experience at The Peaks Resort as well as in the Spa.”
The Peaks Resort & Spa reopens for the summer season on Monday, May 23rd. For more information, please visit www.thepeaksresort.com.
